TROOP 167 AUGUST CAMP 2026
Troop 167 will be camping from Friday, August 21st until Sunday, August 23rd. We will meet at the Stoughton Conservation Club, 918 Collins Road, Stoughton 4:30 pm on Friday, August 21st and plan to leave at 5:00 pm. We will be staying at Eden Valley Organized Youth Group Site (1415 50th Ave, Baldwin, IA 52207) and will travel to Maquoketa Caves State Park to explore the park's trails and cave system.
This campout offers a unique mix of hiking in the August heat and exploring cool caves. Scouts should be prepared for changing temperatures throughout the day by dressing in layers. Clothing should be appropriate for getting dirty, sweaty, and possibly snagged or torn while navigating through caves and rugged terrain. Closed toe shoes and headlamps are a must.
We will return around noon on Sunday, August 23rd. Scouts will call parents for pickup once we are back and have begun unpacking the trailer. When signing up, please indicate the best phone number to reach your parent/guardian. Adults planning on driving, please indicate how many Scouts you have room for in your vehicle and if you are willing to pull the troop trailer.
As always, our Troop is electronic-free, and Scouts should plan to leave their electronic devices, including phones, at home. Scouts will share responsibility for providing food for meals.
